Postcards

Went to Penzance last week and bought these postcards

The Scillonian III in Penzance harbour.

Land's End airport

Gyllyngdune Hotel in Falmouth. On the reverse is written 'Where I stayed for a week'. It's been turned into apartments now.

A rather charming shot titled 'Water Babies, Newlyn Cornwall'.

None of the above cards has a date.

Another wonderful photograph. Titled 'Cornish Coastguard'.

The last one has a date, 1940 and the photographer was Humphrey Spender.

Interesting guy. His Wiki page is here.

Saturday Morning Frivolity

Always carrying my digital camera pays off sometimes.

Spotted these wonderful examples on the streets in my home town.

Patience is exhausted.

No don't.

I don't think they want visitors.

Slippery customers these Enlish.

And when a well known greeting card and gift shop closed in the town.

Mazey Day

My favourite day of the year is Mazey Day. This is one of the last events of the Golowan Festival which takes place in Penzance in the last week of June.

There is so much to see and I have taken so many photographs over the last five years that it is too much to put into one post. So this post is about the fantastic creations that are paraded through the streets.

These are from various years from 2006 to 2010.
